Want to make Plot files for our KIP printers?
Read below or download the instruction sheet here
Normally we can only print AutoCAD plot files or PDF files. Plot files have the three-letter extension .PLT. These files are created in AutoCAD in the print or plot menu where you use the option to print or save to a file.
When you save an AutoCAD file normally, the native file extension is DWG or DWX. These files will not print on our printers.
As with any printer, you must use the correct driver. For our printer you can download the driver from our FTP site at:
ftp://theinkstone.com/AutoCad_Drivers
To access this simply type the address in your web browser and then pick the appropriate driver for the version of AutoCAD that you have.
In addition to having the correct driver, you must also have the right scale and right pen sizes set prior to saving the plot file. We recommend always doing a full preview first.
Please Note: all pens must be set to black or monochrome.
If you have questions about some options, you might save your file a couple of different ways and see which one works best. Like setting up any printer for the first time, it may not always work immediately.
